Free Supercharging Spots in NYC (Yes, Really)
New York City Tesla owners: there are free Superchargers in this city and half of you have no idea.
Now most Superchargers do cost money, but there are destination chargers at hotels, garages, and some retail spots that are completely free to use. And in the city, that adds up fast.
The Whole Foods on Houston? Destination charger. Certain Hilton and Marriott locations in Midtown have them in their garages. Some WeWork locations also.
Here's how to find them: In the Tesla navigation, search 'Destination Charger' and filter your map. You can also use PlugShare, it's free, and filter by 'free' chargers. New Yorkers have actually crowdsourced a ton of these spots.
If you're parking in the city anyway and the garage has a charger, plug in. Even two hours of Level 2 adds 15 to 20 miles. In a city where you're not driving far, that's everything.
