The Tesla Range Trick Nobody Told You About

You’re killing your battery if you charge your Tesla to 100% every night. I know, nobody told me either.

Tesla actually recommends keeping your daily charge between 20% and 80%. This is called the 'Daily' charge limit, and it's literally built into the car. They designed it this way.

On the app, Go to Charging → Set Limit. You'll see a slider. Move it to 80. Set it. Forget it.

The only time you go to 100% is before a long road trip, and even then, Tesla tells you to leave soon after it hits full.

Batteries degrade faster at high states of charge. This one small habit can add years to your battery's lifespan. And if you're ever selling your Tesla, that battery health number matters. A lot.

80% is the way to go. Pass it on.
